Then we might as well have a parade

Ok, just wondering . ..how do you all go about getting a toy collection together? I have some things , here and there. Should you decide ok I'm collection a certain artist? Or color? Or creature? Or subject? Of course I'd like to have everything I want but it gets costly. A lot of the collections I see seem to be grouped in categories. Any suggestions or help in this matter might help me . I could be over thinking it though. Just get what you love? Hummmm :?: Thankyou!

Yeah, any number of things. Buy what you love, but do your best to not get caught up buying things impulsively. I made a move to focus on just a few artists a few years ago, and it was incredibly helpful. It can be really difficult to not snap things up the second you see them, especially when you are just starting to build your collection, but it's way better in the long run if you can pace yourself. I'm shocked at the amount of toys I have at this point. I still enjoy almost all of them, but there have been quite a few that I regretted getting.

I'm in the same boat. A few years ago I decided on a couple of artists and also focusing on grey scale. There are quite a few things I would get rid of but they don't sell for anywhere near what they cost if they sell at all. I don't think I've bought 20 pieces this year. There isn't anywhere near the number of toys released. The poor market forced a lot of toy companies to close.

You got it! Buy what you love! Read toy blogs, see what's coming out so you are ready for releases. Do your research on artists to get a feel for their work and you will know which ones stand out more than others. Try not to allow others to get you all hyped about a release, those hyped purchases tend to be the ones you regret later on...*cough...French series Dunnys...cough*

Buy everything you like until you almost go broke, then sell what you have to sell to survive. When you're financially stable again, take a step back and see what you have left. They are your favorites. Congrats, you're a toy collector, and that's your collection.

Aww! Thanks guys! Your the bestest ! I will take all this advice to heart! I am learning about the impulse thing. I have learned a lot from reading this forum and researching things my self. I have also learned that there is a differance between - oh wow that popped up? It's rare should I get it? And.... OMG I LOVE THAT! This is such an adventure. So many incredible things released all the time. Also I learned that the display is just as important as the piece itself. It really adds to the items' story. Looking though here at everyones treasures is so eye opening ! One thing I do know, is all collections are kicked up a notch with anything from here! Anytime I miss out on a piece I just know there will be something else around the corner or it will come up again some day. I still pine for a squid with ink though . Haven't quite gotten over missing those yet . Lol. Thanks again for the help!

I've got one. Also have the neoprene sleeve that the pint fits in so your fingers don't get cold when you are eating out of the container.
