Urban Decay 2/ G40 Art Summit. If you live in NOVA.
The Sideshow
Posted in: Art Events
Since there is not much of a "scene" in the NOVA/DC area there is at least this show. Went last year and even submitted to figures to the show. Well it is coming around again this year. Very well done last year so check it out.

This is for a different show for the locals of the DC area. I didn't want to start a new thread and since this is really back and forth with me and treblekicker don't want to bog the board down too much.

In the vein of the G40 art summit in DC. I went last night and was very impressed with the set up. I will post pictures later tonight. Also was able to meet up with fellow boardis treblekicker. Like he said to me last night it really is cool to meet up with someone in person that you have had so much interaction with online. Again it was a pleasure to meet you Rob.

Some of those pieces are really nice. It's good to see this happening near VA.
Is Cusack supposed to be misspelled in that one piece?

nice pics! another reason me showing up so late was lame...i barely took any photos. matthew in front of pollock on prozac is priceless.
dinky: yep, that's a radically transformed hazel.
eas: i'm guessing it's intentional. android mccarthy's nemesis is the cusak. at least it works for me that way.
saw those 2 hucks sell for (online sale) $1600 right as i was leaving...even with one of the wings busted.

Could have sworn I'd seen that Andrew Bell piece before, I'm thinking in a show that was a bunch of custom station wagons by a bunch of different artists like Pon etc.

Thank you all for the kind words. It was a great night. This was the first large show I have been able to attend. Well put together and the plan is to have it every year. I missed it last year so that was a bummer. I was happy to share just for the simple fact that so many others have shared their show pictures and I finally got the chance to share. Like I said before I met up with Rob at the show as well so that was bonus enough. I will be going to the Urban Decay show this Sat so I will share that as well. This is a much smaller show with local artist so at the very least you all may learn something.

I found a list of artist for the Urban Decay show on the website. If anyone would like pictures of someone's work when I am there let me know. If not I will take as many as I can/like. Here is the list for those who may care.
Josh Taylor, Emily Greene Liddle, Shawn Beeks, Gregg Deal, RSIN, Kevin Murphy, Sergio Mancini, Steve Strawn, Mary Spring, Matt Anderson, Jeremy Gann, Gabe Pons, James Walker, Drew Storm Graham, Alexander Aviles (ElStabo), Graham Franciose, Kenny Brown, Jorge Guillen, Herberth Romero, Derek Yarrington, Rejuvenile and Kirsten Schneider.
I really like James Walker's work. Check it out.
