I saw Amanda's studio tour and have been meaning to post one of my own for months.
So I just did half of one for now on my blog.

Thanks you.
And its not nearly as light as it looks in there. My main work desk is in te darkest corner and the window and lamp reflect in my Laptop screen.
But it is a nice space.

I blogged the whole conversion on my blog too. You can go click the studio tag I think and look back.

Wow, I had no idea you'd built it up from bare brick and floorboards! You did an amazing job, I'm impressed! I'm good at cosmetic fixes, but actual restoration seems so advanced and scary to me, I don't know if I'd have the courage to tackle something like that, especially in an old home.

Its come along way since last I saw. Absolutely love it, it's just like my dream home - stupid modern furniture! - certainly worth all the effort. Still waiting on the invitation for afternoon tea so I could have a good nosy!!

finally got to see which Mandi piece you acquired but what's in the spherical cage?

Nice, great work space! For some reason I was expecting more the castle from Edward Scissorhands or some mad scientist's lab with scrap metal and bits everywhere. :dadebil:

Thanks very much everyone.
The house overall is being renovated one room at a time.
Te end vibe is sort of a mash up of Arts&Crafts style Victorian/Edwardian Hobbit hole crammed into a four floor (including basement) end terrace millworkers cottage (circa 1905).

The ball shaped cage is a ships lantern. Sort of a small oil lamp in a rotating gimble arrangement. The wall lamp is a replica of a Euston Station gas lamp from the 1800's. There is another the other side of the room.

I shall have a got at getting some more pics of that side today as the sun is shining..
